Association objectives

Summary of the NHIFA’s Strategic Plan (2022-2027):

  • The Strategic Goals pertaining to the communities and CSOs that are partners or beneficiaries of the association’s activities, projects and programs:
  • Tangibly and sustainably improving the health status and socio-economic conditions in 100 poor, underserved communities across Egypt; by Strengthening the foundations of, and promoting the approaches for comprehensive sustainable development in those communities, and their districts and governorates; i.e. through: building the capacities/capabilities of 100 civil society organizations and 100 volunteer groups (especially youth groups) at the local level; and 5-10 NGO- Networks at the level of respective districts and governorates; and mobilizing the necessary/required human and material resources from the targeted communities, districts and governorates.

  • Providing 1,000,000 citizens in general and vulnerable groups in particular – living in the 100 communities targeted by NHIFA’s projects/programs – with health and socio-economic knowledge/awareness and services; So that they can live healthier, more productive and socially cohesive lives;·       Providing 100 local civil society organizations in the targeted communities with resources and technical assistance; to: a) Become self-reliant/sustainable, efficient, truly representative of, and positively impacting on their communities; b) Be able to establish cooperative relationships with the private sector entities, and government authorities, institutions and facilities; So that they can effectively participate in their existing programs, and/or develop their own sustainable socio-economic development programs to empower vulnerable groups in their communities; AndProviding 100 local NGOs in the targeted communities with resources and technical assistance; So that they can form 10 networks/forums/alliances at their governorates’ level to become able to advocate, gain support, and mobilize resources to address the root causes of the priority problems/needs of their communities; and contribute to achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030

  • The Specific Objectives (to be attained (2022 through 2027):
    • Implement 20-40 innovative, well-designed programs/projects and activities to develop 100 local communities in areas of activities that contribute to achieving NHIFA’s mission; address the priority needs of the target communities; and are consistent with the interests of major national and international donors (such as: Sawiris Foundation, Vodafone Foundation, Etisalat Foundation, USAID, GIZ, UNFPA, UNICEF, CARE, Save the Children and Plan International); and Corporate Social Responsibility Programs;
