The “Health and Life” Project funded by the Etisalat Foundation

The “Health and Life” Project funded by the Etisalat Foundation for Development and Community Care (2019): The project was implemented with the aim of improving health conditions in the impoverished underserved villages in Ismailia and Suez governorates; by raising health awareness in the target communities about ways to prevent common diseases, improving the performance level of health service providers to provide distinguished medical services/care, and providing direct health services through medical convoys (especially Cardiology convoys). The results of the project were as follows: –
  • In the field of raising health awareness, and improving the level of performance of health service providers:
  • 200 protective kits (including disinfectants, gloves, masks, etc…) were distributed to doctors and nurses in Suez and Ismailia governorates to prevent the risk of being infected by, or transmitting the Covid-19 virus to their colleagues and/or patients.
  • 4,035 brochures were distributed to raise the public awareness about the danger of infection with the Covid-19 virus.
  • Rulers and Class Schedules, bearing health awareness messages about how to preserve the public health and prevent heart diseases, were distributed to 2,475 school students.
  • 500 masks were distributed to school students.
  • In the field of providing direct health services through medical convoys (especially cardiology convoys):
   In Suez Governorate: Adult clinics: 292 citizens were examined, 145 medical cases were diagnosed:  114 were referred for treatment at the National Heart Institute, and 31 were referred to health insurance hospitals in the governorate. School convoys: 5,284 students were examined, and 474 medical cases were diagnosed and referred to the health insurance hospitals for periodic follow-up and appropriate treatment at the discretion of the specialist doctor. In Ismailia Governorate: Adult clinics: 125 citizens were examined, and 22 medical cases were diagnosed: 2 cases were treated at the National Heart Institute, and 20 cases were referred to the health insurance hospitals in the governorate.
