Your Health is the Origin of the Story” project, funded by the Etisalat

The project was implemented using an innovative model that includes three axes:
Medical convoys - which provide early diagnosis of diseases in general and heart diseases in particular, in the target groups and provide therapeutic and surgical treatment to them. Awareness convoys: -
To raise the awareness of target groups on how to avoid and eliminate disease causes and reduce the exacerbation of chronic diseases and their impact on public health.
Establish an electronic system within the convoys:
- To create a personal medical record (digital - electronic) for each beneficiary from the convoys to save his/her medical data and limit the use of paper to preserve the environment. In addition, each beneficiary was given an electronic card that contains his personal data and medical condition, in order to allow him/her to obtain Discounts on checkups, medical services, and medications through a local medical services network (clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies) in each district; to ensure continuity of medical services for those groups in the targeted areas.

Within the framework of the targeted schools:
With regard to health awareness on how to remain healthy and prevent diseases, especially heart disease, for school students before undergoing a medical examination:
Health Awareness-Raising sessions were conducted for 11,584 male and female students in the Sharkia and Menoufia governorates.
With regard to the medical examination of school students:
- Medical examinations were done for 11,584 male and female students in the Sharkia and Menoufia governorates: 28 heart cases were diagnosed and they were referred to health insurance hospitals for follow-up with ultrasound waves on a regular basis and to provide appropriate treatment at the discretion of the specialist doctor.
Within the framework of target communities:
18,265 residents were medically examined, including 10 cases of people with special needs and the handicapped.
The medical examinations were in the specialties of cardiology, internal medicine, dermatology, pediatrics, urology, and ophthalmology.
As a result: 3,572 prescriptions were issued, 549 ophthalmology cases were referred to specialized hospitals in the targeted governorates, and 70 heart cases were referred to the National Heart Institute for treatment, and one case required open-heart surgery.
Also, 27 internal medicine-related patients were referred to specialized hospitals in their districts and/or governorates.
